Our May Creative Boxes were themed 'This is Me' and encouraged children to dive into some fun and engaging activities that encouraged them to look at themselves and love the things that make them special and different from everyone else.
To extend on this learning, we are encouraging our preschoolers to complete this Play Dough Emotions template to look at some common feelings and emotions and talk about how they can manage these emotions.
Play Dough is a great tool for young children as they have the opportunity to release tension and relax as they express themselves through creative play. This template will be a great way to talk to your child about what things make them feel happy, sad and angry and what they like to do when they are feeling this way. It is also a great opportunity for you to share some of your own strategies with your child as it's so important for children to know that everyone feels sad, angry, tired and frustrated at times and that these feelings are all normal.
You can get your FREE Printable Play Dough Emotions Template HERE.
If you are looking for a great homemade play dough recipe to use with this template, my favourite one is HERE. This recipe requires boiling water but does not have to be made on the stove, so it's quick and easy and so soft!
I hope you have lots of fun creating!
